Completed in 1867 as Singapore's first reservoir, MacRitchie sits within the Central Catchment Nature Reserve — Singapore's largest nature reserve, with more than 2,000 hectares of forest and over 20km of trails. Climb the 7-storey Jelutong Tower for an unblocked, bird's-eye view of the forest, or cross the TreeTop Walk — a 25m-high suspension bridge connecting MacRitchie's two highest points, and the first of its kind in Singapore.
Look out for the Lesser Mousedeer, Raffles' Banded Langur (critically endangered), and reptiles such as the Common Sun Skink along the trails. Free entry; open daily 7am–7pm (TreeTop Walk hours differ).
⚠️ The Casuarina Entrance and Cyathea boardwalk trail are closed for maintenance from 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Mar 2027 — use the Jacaranda or Lower Peirce entrances instead.
